Robert, your story was very similar to mine, and I certainly can relate to the horror and would never try to diminish it. It is all too real. However, for some reason, I decided to never “get out”. I am so very thankful that you "stayed in" and are the person you are. Change can only come from within and from the people with enough courage and stamina and intelligence to make those changes. I became a minister several years after this event in my life and was a pastor for almost 20 years. I now do wildlife rehab. I have never fully gotten over my time spent working at the shelter. Much respect to you Ed.

Seems we have much in common indeed! I'm a former pastor as well. Interesting how much affinity there seems to be in animal welfare and caring for the "sheep"...
